Terms of Use

By using Witbitz you agree to these terms. Witbitz is a trusted runtime for building and running collaborative apps in which people and AI agents work together under explicit permissions. Its first app is Spaces, a shared room with an AI. If you use Witbitz on behalf of an organization, you represent that you're authorized to accept these terms for it.

The service

Witbitz hosts encrypted rooms ("Spaces"), runs AI agents inside them on your turns, and provides an app platform, an SDK and an API. Your content is end-to-end encrypted and content-blind, as described in the Privacy policy. Some Spaces are confidential: the turn runs inside a hardware-attested enclave and your client refuses to send if the attestation does not match. That is a property of the tier, not a promise about any particular hardware vendor's security. The service may change or add features over time.

Access, links, and keys

• Access is by link. A Space link carries (or reconstructs) the room key. Anyone who holds a working link — plus any sign-in the room requires — can access that Space. Treat links like keys: share them deliberately and keep them safe.
• An account is optional. You may verify an email address to keep your Spaces across devices and to be invited. You are responsible for the security of that mailbox and of any identity provider you sign in with; whoever controls it can reach what it unlocks.
• We cannot recover a lost key. Because your content is end-to-end encrypted and we never hold your key, if you lose your only link or key we cannot decrypt or restore your content for you.
• Backup is yours to keep. If you turn it on, your keys are sealed on your device and opened again only with your recovery code, a passkey, or a device you have already linked. We cannot open it for you. If all of those are lost, so is the content they unlocked.

Your content

You keep all rights to the content you put into a Space. You grant Witbitz only the limited license needed to operate the service — to store your ciphertext, run the certified function that processes a turn, transmit turns to the model you selected, and deliver the app to participants. We do not use your content to train models or for advertising. You are responsible for your content and for having the rights to use it, and you must not put in content you're not permitted to share.

AI agents

Agents are automated participants. They receive delegated, revocable authority and a human keeps the final say: high-stakes actions are proposed and require a human approval before they execute. You are responsible for actions you approve and for how you configure and direct an agent. Agent output is generated by AI and may be inaccurate, incomplete, or inappropriate; it is not professional, legal, medical, or financial advice. Verify anything you rely on. Where an agent participates with people, it must be disclosed as an AI and not presented as human, and you must obtain any consent your local law requires.

Usernames

A username is an optional, unique, public name in a shared namespace. It is a licence to use a name, not ownership of it: do not claim a name to impersonate a person or an organization, to pass yourself off as official, or to hold names you do not use. We may reclaim a name for those reasons or to comply with law. Renaming is allowed and does not cost you access to your Spaces; a released name may be taken by someone else after a hold, so do not treat a username as a durable address for anything that matters.

Apps and owner-governed rooms

If you build an app on Witbitz or govern rooms (for example, requiring your own sign-in and setting membership tiers), you act as the controller for your users' admission and are responsible for your policy, your identity provider, your users' notices and consents, and compliance with the laws that apply to you. You must not use owner controls to impersonate another organization or to mislead users.

If you register your own OAuth application so that your users connect to you, that consent is between you and them: you are responsible for the scopes you request, the notices you give, your provider's terms, and what you do with what you receive. The same applies to any outside host you declare for your app to reach. Witbitz holds the resulting credential on the terms below and is not a party to that consent.

Acceptable use

• Don't use Witbitz for anything unlawful, or to harass, deceive, defraud, surveil, or harm others.
• Don't attempt to break the isolation or the verifiability of the platform, to read other rooms' content, to overload or attack the service, or to circumvent metering or limits.
• Don't misrepresent an AI agent as a human, and don't deploy an agent where doing so would be unlawful or against the participants' wishes.

Payment and keys

• Some features are paid and handled by a third-party payment processor. Prepaid credit or license keys are for use of the service, have no cash value, and — except where required by law — are non-refundable.
• If you bring your own model or service keys, you are responsible for those keys, their costs, and their providers' limits and terms.

Connections and other credentials you attach

You can attach a credential — an API key, or a token from an OAuth consent — so a Space can call an outside service on your behalf. It is held sealed to an attested enclave, as described in the Privacy policy. You remain responsible for it: that you are permitted to use it, for the costs and limits it incurs, and for that provider's terms. An agent may spend a connection during a turn on the instructions of anyone in the Space you added it to, so add it only to Spaces whose members you intend to give that reach; effectful calls are proposed for approval, but you should treat adding a connection as granting access. Revoking it stops every Space at once. We do not guarantee any outside service's availability or what it does with a request made with your credential.

Voice capture

If you set up voice capture, anything posted with your capture key is treated as sent by you. Keep it secret and rotate it if it leaks; you can turn the feature off at any time.

Third-party services

Witbitz relies on third parties — model providers (including confidential-inference hosts), cloud hosting and attested-enclave hosting, a CDN, web-search, map, place and travel providers (proxied), and a payment processor. Your use is also subject to their terms, and their availability is outside our control. See the Privacy policy for who they are.

“As is”; limitation of liability

The service is provided as is and as available, without warranties of any kind, and may change or be unavailable at any time. To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Witbitz project is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for loss of content or keys; and our total liability for any claim is limited to the greater of the amounts you paid us for the service in the three months before the claim, or US$100.

Indemnity

To the extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify the Witbitz project against claims arising from your content, your use of the service, an app you operate on it, or your breach of these terms.

Changes and termination

We may update these terms (a new effective date will appear above) and may suspend or end access for misuse or to comply with law. Continued use after a change means you accept it.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules, subject to any mandatory consumer protections of the place where you live.
